nutritional guidelines

Studies show that sound nutritional programs greatly enhance a child’s ability to stay healthy and learn up to his or her potential. At Wee Care Day Care we always put kids first and want to do anything we can to enhance your child’s learning experience. Wee Care Day Care participates in two highly successful nutritional programs.
The Women, Infants and Children, or WIC, program provides nutritious foods that promote good health for pregnant women, women who just had a baby, breastfeeding moms, infants and children up to age 5. Fathers can also apply for WIC for their children up to age 5. WIC offers coupons to buy healthy foods at local grocery stores as well as provides supplemental foods such as:
Milk
Cereal
Juice
Eggs
Peanut butter or beans
Infant formula
Tuna fish and carrots
(if you are breastfeeding)

Our other program offered is the Child and Adult Care Food Program, or CACFP. The CCACFP is a child nutrition program of the United States Department of Agriculture. The program plays a vital role in improving the quality of day care and making it more affordable for low-income families. CACFP meal requirements as established by the USDA are:
